Libby Schaaf Former Oakland Mayor Is New Bay Area Council President & CEO
Congratulations to my friend Former Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, who was appointed Bay Area Council President & CEO on Monday, April 13th, 2026.
The Bay Area Council today (April 13) announced the appointment of Libby Schaaf as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, following a comprehensive national search. Schaaf, the former two-term Mayor of Oakland, will lead the organization’s work advancing economic vitality, innovation, and quality of life across the Bay Area.
Her selection was unanimously approved by the Executive Committee of the Bay Area Council’s Board of Directors after an extensive and competitive national search process working with the international executive search firm Heidrick and Struggles. Schaaf begins her new role on May 4.
Schaaf brings decades of public service and executive leadership experience, having served as Mayor of Oakland from 2015 to 2023. During her tenure, she led transformative initiatives to expand housing production, strengthen public safety, advance economic development, and deepen partnerships between business, government, and community stakeholders. She earned a national reputation as a pragmatic, results-oriented leader capable of navigating complex challenges while building broad coalitions.

The uploaded video is either from a YouTuber vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, or from a YouTube Channel that has uploaded a video with a keyword that triggers our predetermined keyword, and so then it is posted.
In either case, the video is uploaded to and formatted automatically at the ZennieReport site and Zennie62Media -created and owned social media pages.
The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours.
Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary, thus less chance for Zennie62Blog, Zennie62 YouTube vloggers to be robbed.
The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated.
With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology investors and partners.
