Oakland (Special to ZennieReport.com) – In San Leandro, CA, the question on the floor was once just rumor: Did Leo Sheridan, San Leandro Schools Trustee, Use Fake Social Media Account To Harass Councilmember Bryan Azevedo? For months now, supporters of San Leandro Councilmember Bryan Azevedo in his run for re-election have told this blogger that he has been “consistently harassed” online by a person who uses the name “Lawrence A”.

On Nextdoor, alone, “Lawrence A” had a quasi-daily stream of text-based negative content aimed at Councilmember Azevedo, who’s seeking re-election against the man he bested in 2020, Ed Hermandez, going from July 29th of this year to last week before Election Day 2024.

“Lawrence A”’s posts have been of the deeply personal kind, even to mentioning, with derision, how Mr. Azevedo talks during city council meetings. For some time everyone assumed that “Lawrence A” was indeed a disgruntled man who goes by that name – even if he was hard to identify. Well, last week, according to sources, we now know who “Lawrence A” is rumored to be. And it’s a solid rumor: Leo Sheridan.
Yes, the same Leo Sheridan who is “Trustee 4” of the Board of Trustees of the San Leandro Unified School District. And the same man that many have told this blogger has an “intense and irrational hatred” for San Leandro Councilmember Bryan Azevedo.
Mr. Sheridan was routinely paired with San Leandro Former City Councilmember and Businessman, Lee Thomas, and both were campaigning for Ed Hernandez against Councilmember Azevedo in the 2024 Election.
But how do we know it’s him? Well, first, “Lawrence A” has a profile that is located in Washington Square, a neighborhood in San Leandro. Now, Leo Sheridan is also in and his account points to Washington Square. But that you may say is no big deal, and that may be.
But consider this: a woman who did not wish to be identified said she did some “poking around” and discovered that Mr. Sheridan sadly lost his father at the age of 51 in 2011. And Leo Sheridan is one of three brothers – one of them is named “Lawrence A”, but the woman does not know what the last name with the A is. They think the A is a middle name.
His Dad’s obituary lists three sons: Leo, Stephen, and Lawrence. And his Dad’s name is also “Leo”. The whereabouts of “Lawrence A” are unknown, but observers believe that Leo Sheridan of the Board of Trustees, uses the other account. At one time “Lawrence A” lived at Leo’s address – which is how Leo is able to post the “really bad insults” about Councilmember Bryan Azevedo that have so many up in arms.

The other identifier to those who know Leo Sheridan who say that he is “Lawrence A”, is the way “Lawrence A” texts – it’s much like Leo Sheridan. That is the claim.
Many are asking if Leo Sheridan should resign from the Board of Trustees or be recalled if this is officially confirmed. The San Leandro Board of Trustees is ran under a code of conduct. Ultimately, that should be determined by the San Leandro Board of Trustees.
Now The Matter Of The School Board And San Leandro Council Candidate Robert Bulatao, And Private Information
As some of you know, San Leandro City Council Candidate Robert Bulatao has also been the rumored focus of Leo Sheridan’s ire. The reason is that Mr. Bulatao (a year ago) posted on Nextdoor and addressed the AC Transit Line in front of Garfield Elementary. “I got a petition to reroute the line because it is a danger to kids and families. On Nextdoor, Robert says Leo Sheridan tried to defend the bus line and shift the blame to families, claiming that they are at fault for the traffic congestion – claiming the AC Transit bus is not the issue.
Reached for this post, Robert told this blogger says he asked Leo to come out and look at the situation and Leo said no. “Fast forward a few months later and allegedly, a kid was almost hit by a car as a result two parents got into a fight,” Robert said. “Immediately after that the school principal released a statement on the matter. The school then said it would conduct the kind of survey that Mr. Bulatao wanted in the first place.”
Mr. Bulatao continued “The very next school day, a Monday, I saw the school district superintendent Dr. Michael McLaughlin (some call him “Boss Hogg” according to my informants) and went over to talk to him. Superintendent McLaughlin agreed that there were traffic problems that should be addressed.”
Robert also suggested moving the school buses from the sidewalk to the staff parking lot. Dr. McLaughlin also assured that there would be speed bumps. And Mike acknowledged the problem with the AC Transit Bus line.
Robert then went back to the Nextdoor post where all of Leo Sheridan’s negative comments were posted – but Leo had deleted them. Fortunately, Robert kept screenshots. Leo Sheridan kept quiet after that.
