New York City Mayor Eric Adams exploded at a reporter during a news conference, calling the reporter a “dark, sick person.”
Adams addressed the reporter over an article about Jasmine Ray’s book. Ray’s book details her romantic relationship with Adams.
The outburst followed reports about a new book by Adams’ former aide and ex-girlfriend, Jasmine Ray, which describes their past relationship and alleged incidents at Borough Hall.
Adams denied any sexual encounter referenced in the book, accused the media of “oversexualizing” him as a Black man, and ended the press conference saying he wished he “had a mic to drop.”
Chris Sommerfeldt, the senior City Hall correspondent for the New York Daily News, is the reporter Adams was addressing.
