Today, President Donald Trump announced a new round of tariff, the largest since the Great Depression. The Trump Tariff’s have caused a lot of economic anxiety to America’s friends, most notably Canada. And because Canada is the number one international supplier of tourists to Las Vegas, Sin City has suffered.

According to Zennie62Media estimates based on Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority data, America’s capital city for gambling lost 42,064 visitors to date based on an overall drop in visitors of 7.3 percent and a drop in percentage of total visitors from Canada to Las Vegas of one-third or from 3.56 in 2024 to 3.06 percent in 2025.

Many blame the difference on Donald Trump: according to NPR “Canadians are pushing back against President Trump’s tariffs. Many say that they’re buying more Canadian products and avoiding trips to the U.S. Trump recently boosted tariffs on Canadian imports to 35%. Emily Russell from North Country Public Radio reports.”

The application of the Trump Tariff’s was announced July 31st. On the next day, Canada’s PM Carney said:

““President Trump has announced that the United States will increase its tariffs to 35% on those Canadian exports that are not covered under the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement, or CUSMA. While the Canadian government is disappointed by this action, we remain committed to CUSMA, which is the world’s second-largest free trade agreement by trading volume.

The U.S. application of CUSMA means that the U.S. average tariff rate on Canadian goods remains one of its lowest for all of its trading partners. Other sectors of our economy – including lumber, steel, aluminum, and automobiles – are, however, heavily impacted by U.S. duties and tariffs. For such sectors, the Canadian government will act to protect Canadian jobs, invest in our industrial competitiveness, buy Canadian, and diversify our export markets.

With no end in sight to Trump’s Tariff’s and the loss of the equivalent of 7,000 visitors from Canada per month to Las Vegas (enough to fill MGM Grand Las Vegas at 6,852 rooms each month or spread among several hotels on the Las Vegas Strip), it’s clear that Las Vegas’ economy is being harmed by President Trump’s policies. The question is when will he stop hurting Sin City?

Note from ZennieReport.com, Zennie62 YouTube, and ZennieReport.com: this ZennieReport video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. This is what we call “The Third Wave of Media”.

The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the ZennieReport.com Blog site and Zennie62Media -created and owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary, thus less chance for ZennieReport.com, Zennie62 YouTube vloggers to be robbed.

The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
