Gov. Newsom responds after judge orders Trump to return National Guard control to California | RAW
Attorney General Rob Bonta and Gov. Gavin Newsom respond after a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order Thursday requiring President Donald Trump to return control of the National Guard to California, calling the deployment in Los Angeles unlawful. The judge said the action violated the Tenth Amendment and overstepped Trump’s authority under Title 10. The lawsuit, filed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, challenges Trump’s decision to deploy 4,000 Guard members and 700 Marines amid protests over immigration raids.
