The Downtown Oakland Pierre Pierre Restaurant Shooting: Where Were Oakland Police Officers?

First Friday in Oakland is normally a time for festive gatherings and celebrations. The new black-owned Pierre Pierre Restaurant was ready to be the centerpiece eatery for Downtown Oakland First Friday patronage. And by evening, it was just that.

Two people who were just eating were wounded by gunfire while dining. The victims were transported to different hospitals and the assailant or assailants were not identified.

But given the rate of crime, where were the Oakland Police? Where’s the Oakland Police Mobile Substation?

Why were there no police nearby?

We need special funding for a program specifically created to stop these kinds of crimes before they start.

Let’s talk about this and solutions. Things we can do now.

SF Gang Member May Have Been Involved In Pierre Pierre Shooting

SF Public Safety News repoprts after last night’s shooting at Oakland’s Pierre Pierre restaurant, in which two diners were wounded, police will presumably focus on the eatery’s popularity with members of San Francisco’s ‘Big Block’ gang. Gang member Joshua Pittman worked at the restaurant until his arrest by SFPD in June last year, just outside the premises, where he was found in possession of a Glock 22. He was with a man described as his “boss” at work, Cleashawn Hill – identified by law enforcement as a gang associate – along with a member of another gang. Pittman, currently in federal custody, is accused by prosecutors of murdering 51-year-old Robert Ortega in June 2024 during a gunfight between rival groups on an Oakland street.

Note from ZennieReport.com, Zennie62 YouTube, and ZennieReport.com: this ZennieReport video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. This is what we call “The Third Wave of Media”.

The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the ZennieReport.com Blog site and Zennie62Media -created and owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary, thus less chance for ZennieReport.com, Zennie62 YouTube vloggers to be robbed.

The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
