Jayden Daniels NFL ROTY! Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been named the 2024 Pepsi® Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Year, Pepsi and the NFL announced today. Daniels was recognized online at nfl.com/rookies.

The No. 2 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, Daniels recorded the highest completion percentage by a qualified rookie quarterback ever, the most rushing yards by a rookie quarterback in NFL history and the fourth-highest passer rating by a qualified rookie quarterback all-time. He also led all qualified rookie quarterbacks in passer rating (100.1), completion percentage (69.0), rushing yards (891) and rushing touchdowns (six), and ranked second in passing yards (3,568) and touchdown passes (25).

“I want to thank my family and friends for their love and support,” said Daniels. “I also want to thank my coaches and teammates. I would not be able to accept this award without you. I am honored and blessed to be named the 2024 Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Year. Thank you to all the fans who took the time to vote for me all season, it is truly a privilege to play for you and I can’t wait to see everyone again in 2025!”

Daniels started and won 14 games, including the playoffs, this season, tied with Ben Roethlisberger (14 wins in 2004 with Pittsburgh) for the most wins by a rookie quarterback, including the postseason, in NFL history. He also became the fourth rookie quarterback all-time to start and win multiple playoff games, joining Joe Flacco (2008 with Baltimore), Brock Purdy (2022 with San Francisco) and Mark Sanchez (2009 with the New York Jets). Daniels had 37 combined passing and rushing touchdowns, and 5,416 combined passing and rushing yards this season (including the playoffs), both the most ever by a rookie quarterback in NFL history.

Daniels was one of six finalists nominated for the award. The other finalists were Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving, Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, Broncos quarterback Bo Nix and Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

The six finalists were selected for their outstanding performances this season. Each week, six nominees were chosen for the Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Week and fans voted for the winner on NFL.com. Those results were used to help determine the finalists.

This is the 24th year with Pepsi as the Official Soft Drink of the NFL and the 23rd year that Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year award.

Note from ZennieReport.com, Zennie62 YouTube, and ZennieReport.com: this ZennieReport video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. This is what we call “The Third Wave of Media”.

The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the ZennieReport.com Blog site and Zennie62Media -created and owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary, thus less chance for ZennieReport.com, Zennie62 YouTube vloggers to be robbed.

The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
