Dr. Gabriel Madu Must Put Patient Needs Ahead Of Himself
Atlanta (Special to ZennieReport.com) – The post on Dr. Gabriel Ikemba Madu Of Kaiser Permanente’s Fayetteville, Georgia Office is based on a private email sent to a Kaiser Executive in Oakland, CA, where I am based when not here for my Mom in Georgia. I am making it public to underscore my concern about Dr. Madu and to add my voice to those who have complained about him. Dr. Madu must find a joy in the appropriate and professional treatment of his patients, and combine that with a belief in the Lord that will guide him. Currently, Gabriel Ikemba Madu seems to act without the appropriate spirtual and professional guardrails.
Here is what I shared with the Kaiser Executive this week.
I am writing because a doctor in Georgia here named Gabriel Ikemba Madu is my Mom’s primary care doctor. As Mom’s caregiver, I am responsible for the creation and maintenance of Mom’s online Kaiser account. Long story short, Dr. Madu has failed to answer my emails. I was simply asking for him to approve my Mom’s medicines that were prescribed for her by doctors at Emery and at Fayette-Piedmont. He never responded.
Dr. Gabriel Ikemba Madu Thinks His Clients Should Not Call Or Contact Him When In Need
I panicked and found Dr. Madu’s cell phone number. I called him in a friendly and professional manner. Dr. Madu just focused on how I got his cell phone. But I work in politics still (I do reputation management online and have a network of 108 websites and many relationships and so can get the information I need to serve my clients, or activate top news outlets for them to get out the news) so I know how to get that info. In this case, my Mom is my top client.
After the call, I set a doctor’s meeting for my Mom and with Dr. Madu. Mom has what appears to be something like a nasal polyp problem that has lasted since Saturday. We even went to Southwood (in Morrow, Georgia) Advanced Care Saturday night, but they were understaffed and while in the cold waiting room, Mom started shaking violently. Never saw her do that, before. She said she was cold. So I told the nurse I was taking Mom home, and did. While her nasal problem was still there, she was able to be warm and eat a great dinner. She also had a abdominal spam problem that is treated with laxatives.
So, I was hoping to get Dr. Madu to release the medicines, but someone at Kaiser Southwood moved the order forward that night after we left. Really helped.
So, fast forward to today, and Dr. Madu, and we arrive early to Fayette Kaiser Clinic at 101 Banks Road in Fayettevile, Ga. While waiting, after I checked Mom in, the hospital administrator at that facility, named Barbara Henderson Jones came out to the lobby, approached me, and said she needed to talk to me. And she did this in front of my mother, upsetting her and myself. Ms. Jones told me that Dr. Madu did not want me to come back with my OWN MOTHER who I am CAREGIVER FOR!
Can you believe that? All because I called him on his cell phone. That was his reason. But my Mom has a hard time remembering things and is EASILY intimidated by doctors, where I am there to be the advocate for my Mom. Dr. Madu and Barbara Henderson Jones had the nerve to keep me out of the room, and then scare my Mom into reading me the riot act in front of them.
It was a sadly typical example of the abuse I have gotten as a black male caregiver for his Mom.
Gabriel Ikemba Madu needs to be REMOVED from Kaiser employment. He’s not concerned about my Mom, and has a rap sheet of bad reports. He’s not a good man. Indeed, as far as I am concerned, he’s the devil.
Dr. Madu Must Know There Are Laws That Govern My Responsibility To My Mom
I hate to write this about one of my own (black male professional) but I am determined to save my Mom’s life and get her into her 90s. Yes, I believe in the Lord, but that does not mean that I do nothing. Dr. Madu should understand that, but after what he did today, simply getting another doctor is not enough for me. I want him fired. Even If I have to issue a national press release and make this news, I want him REMOVED from Kaiser.
Dr. Madu does not understand there are laws governing my responsibility to my Mom as caregiver. “Filial responsibility” means that I have a legal and moral obligation to provide financial support and care for my Mom as she ages. 30 states, including California and Georgia, where I shuttle between, have variations of that law. Practically, that means I have to help Mom with her health care needs, particularly because she’s forgetful. That means I need Dr. Madu or any medical professional to respond to my requests in a timely fashion, and not when it suits them.
Dr. Madu does not do that, and is on record treating others with the same neglect that he wants to apply to his relationship with my Mother and me. While the problem is best solved by getting another doctor, the overall issue of Dr. Madu’s behavior is allowed to go on untreated. Kaiser should not do that: it’s bad for members and for society.
Look at some these complaints from his other reported employment (that he was removed from, recently) at Medical Associates Plus Golden Camp 2467 Golden Camp Rd Augusta, GA, 30906: https://doctor.webmd.com/doctor/gabriel-madu-af7116bf-87bb-4729-a46f-7a03b6d611a5-overview
“I don’t know how he is still practicing. I had a hospital follow up visit with him and he kept asking me what I wanted him to do because he needs to go see his next patient. What a waste of time and money and he was helpless. He did not assess me at all. When I left the office and told me husband about my horrible experience, I realized he was the same doctor my husband got into an argument with because he refused to go over my husband’s blood test that he did somewhere else, even though he has the results in his hand. I would not recommend him to anyone. “
“interrogated me and certainly didnt seem interested in helping me. i paid $100 co pay and instead of even referring me to another doctor for my medicine he told me ” i cannot help you and i need to see other patients” sad excuse for a doctor.”

“If I could rate a zero I would, This doctor is the worst doctor I ever dealt with, I take my brother to this man for treatment and he doesn’t know anything, my brother is handicapped and can’t do a lot of things for himself. I asked the doctor to sign off on my brother’s meals on wheels and he claimed he didn’t know anything about the free meals so I’m in search of a new doctor for my brother. He never do a full exam on patients he is the WORST.”
I could go on and on, but someone needs to sit him down and put him on probation. Dr. Madu must be made to be a better doctor and a better person.
Thank you for your time and attention.
With respect,
Zenophon “Zennie” Abraham
