NFL News: The 2023 NFL Hall Of Fame Is This Week, Will Browns Win?

Well, it’s football folks. The NFL starts the 2023 NFL Season this week and with the NFL Hall of Fame Game. The game should feature a battle between two marque quarterbacks, Watson and Rogers, but, as we discuss near the end of this post, it’s more complicated than that.

But before we look at the 2023 NFL Hall of Fame Game, here’s the latest news about National Football League transactions from July 23rd to July 31, 2023 and from the NFL.

The National Football League reports that the following are the list of NFL transactions for Monday, July 31 and we present the entire list from July 31, 2023 through back to July 28th 2023. The NFL reports that the transactions – in other words, trades and waivers, and other actions – are published each day after they are circulated to NFL clubs. The NFL releases what it calls this “public version” and does so several times weekly during the season. It includes waiver requests, assignments via waivers, terminations, free agent signings, reserve list and practice squad additions and deletions, and trades. The NFL Transactions list does not include waiver claims, tryouts, suspensions, etc.

First NFL Game Of 2023 Is This Thursday, August 3, 2023

The first NFL game of the 2023 NFL Season is this Sunday and pitts the Cleveland Browns and Deshaun Watson against Aaron Rogers guiding his new team, the New York Jets. Now, if this NFL Hall of Fame Game follows the norm, neither Watson nor Rogers will see the field beyond one drive, if that. But the real story other than those two great quarterbacks is how draftees with both teams will do.

The Betting Line? You can not go by normal measures of how a team will do. I would pick the Cleveland Browns just because that coach is likely to think they have to win the game because it’s in Ohio and they want to get off to a good start. I don’t think NY Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh would care as much as Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski.

Browns and Jets NFL Hall Of Fame Game Milestones

This NFL Hall Of Fame Game marks the first time that Cleveland has played in it since the franchise’s “inaugural” season as the “New Cleveland Browns” in 1999. And the New York Jets have not played in the NFL Hall of Fame Game since 1992.

The 2023 NFL Hall of Fame Game will televised on NBC, with live coverage starting at 7 p.m. Eastern, 4 p.m. Pacific Time.
